'Lo Sang' for Better Fortune...

Chinese believes that 'Lo Sang' can help bring better fortune to one. And the higher the chopsticks, the better... My family and i had ate 'Lo Sang' for three times already. Once before CNY and twice during new year... This dish definitely taste better together with the pamelo fruit, salmon fish and the bean curd crackers.... Here are some pictures:

UTAR's Main Campus

Last Monday during the 2nd day of Chinese New Year, my dad brought me to my university's main campus in Kampar. The landscape is not done yet and so is the the furnishing inside the campus so, i will talk more about it when its ready... I'll just show you guys some pictures here.
The main office...

The cafeteria and the library is located at this building (i think)...

The classes...

The back view of the main office...

The houses outside the campus... They say its allocated for the students...

Oh yes, there's an underground tunnel too... The view is quite good and KTAR is just next to it...

Herbal Tea Girls vs Pamelo Girls (Wei Ling)

2nd Day of New Year:
Okay, when i was on the way to Kellie's Castle and the UTAR main campus in Kampar, i stop by at the famous pamelo stores in Ipoh... Bases on the information provided by my father, he said that last time Ipoh was famous for beautiful girls selling herbal tea... Now time has change, it has become the Pamelo Girls... I wanted to take a few shots of the pamelo stores but as soon as my car stop in front, all the girls from the stores stood in front... And they are quite pretty... But as soon as i took out the camera and started taking pictures, they went in and sat down... I had a SHOCK man i tell you... I mean out of the blues, all the girls came and stood in front of the store... One of their ways to promote their store i assume... haha, i wonder how's the guys going to choose... Pamelo or the Girls? :p If anyone of you has any chance to visit Ipoh, do visit this place here and experience it for yourself...

I did not take any more pictures after that... Too shock...

Chinese New Year (Wei Ling)

CHINESE NEW YEAR! Finally... Herm, last year i didn't really get to celebrate new year. My mum was admitted to the hospital due to dengue and we had our reunion dinner in the hospital. After she was discharged, i was admitted to the hospital because of dengue again... Haiz... But i am relieve that everything is fine now... Okay, back to the 1st day of new year... My aunt and my mum cook 'mee sua' to go with the mushroom soup... My aunt took 4 hours to cook the soup... And its real good... Later in the afternoon, due to the extremely hot weather, we went to Jusco/Tesco to enjoy the air-con... Haha, and my parents forgot about the ang pows for my sister and i... They gave us at night... :p

New Year's Eve (Wei Ling)

Okay, i am officially back in Subang Jaya. First of all, Happy Chinese New Year to all... Gong Xi Fa Cai! Hope that everyone has been enjoying the festive holidays. Secondly, i would like to thank Irna for updating the blog when i am not around. Well than, lets start... I went back to Taiping on Friday after class around 7.30 pm. Before we start the journey, my sister and i went to McDonald's to 'ta pao' something first. Reached Taiping around 12.00 midnight due to the jam. We went and 'yam char' before we go back to my aunt's house. The next morning, i woke up late when i am suppose to help prepare food as offerings to my ancestors. :p Well than, when i went down, everything was prepared and i got some lecturing for sleeping like a pig. After lunch, we headed back to Ipoh for the reunion dinner. My family and i usually stays at Ipoh during new year's eve and the 1st two days of CNY. Than only we will go back to Taiping, my mum's hometown.

14 Feb 2007 (Irna)

Please excuse the super duper late post.
The confusion that arise when sharing a blog is when both party assumed that the other person is the one who will be posting up about the next post.
WL currently went back to her hometown for Chinese New Year and she could not manage to post, so again I took over her duty as the 'co-owner' of this blog lor.

To be honest, I dont know what in the world am I supposed to post about.... 14 Feb is roughly around 72 hours ago and this topic is kinda basi already ler. Aiya.. WL ar.. After this you have to post something lah. I like one jakun fella over here only ler.

Back to the topic.
On this over commercialised day, few of my friends and I head over to Tanjung which is situated around..erm..dont know what USJ is that. So...

8.55pm,
Picked WL up. Received chocolates and my fav movie soundtrack cd. Love it!!
9.00pm,
Reached Tanjung. None of them were there yet.
9.10pm,
Saw three fellows walking aimlessly lead by Mr Blind Man himself, Sarven Shan. How amusing.. Chocolates from Sarven for WL and me. Thanks again!
9.15pm,
Chris arrived along with his usual antics.
9.15pm - 11.30pm,
Bla bla bla bla bla bla blaing....
11.30pm,
Sent WL home first followed by Chris.
11.42pm,
Driving home nicely when suddenly noticed the road beside the USJ 13 school is closed as the workers need to repair the gantrys. For anybody else that was driving that road, it was not much of an issue as they can simply divert their way. HOWEVER, for me, yes....ME, it was a H.U.G.E problem!! THAT IS THE ONLY WAY HOME I KNOW!! +_+
11.50pm,
Stop the car and called Sarven. "SARVEN!! THE ROAD IS CLOSED!! HOW TO GO HOME??".
11.55pm,
~memory blanks~. Erm..not so actually. Because here, yours truly here potray how stupid and clueless someone could ever get in a lost situation so I'll much rather push it aside.
12.25am,
Reached home all thanks to Sarven. THANK YOU SARVEN FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

The journey to dye SARVEN'S hair!! (Irna)

Exited the ever oh so wonderful slumberland at 10.35am. Fumble over to my phone and saw 2 messages. Ohh..its Sarven. Read the 1st message which is at 8.59am with my eyes half open. Something something bout asking me to teman him go dye hair. The second message pula at 10.05am asking whether I still sleeping or what??
Hahaha..sorry ya Sarven. I tidur mati one la..

So I gave him a call with my ever "husky"-just-awoke-from-sleep voice and say...OF COURSE LAH CAN!! Hahaha.. There is no way I'm gonna miss it man!! He say he'll come and pick me up after 11 so I quickly drag myself up to go get ready. Around 11.15 he smsed me ask me to wait 4 a while. Say he got some problem and he'll explain later. I no problem la..

He reached my house around 11.50am. Rupanya rupanya...just now he got ACCIDENT!! He drove up a divider and remukkan the dunno dunno whats the name water tank below the car. Have to send it to work shop to knock it back to shape which costs him RM350!!! Hahaha.. Say bye bye to half of your pay check Sarven!! Bye bye! Tata! Titi! Tutu! XD

Actually both us of dunno which saloon to go one to dye his hair so we bantai only la go to the summit area there to scout around 1st. On the way there we passed the some place which I found out later is the Good Year Court area (or something like that). Around there we found 3 saloons, however Sarven malu wanna enter and there is NO WAY I'm gonna enter to enquire alone so....we walked passed the saloons and memorised their telephone no which was printed on the banners and gave them a call. Hehehe...smart ya? The average price for colouring for 3 of the saloons were RM 100 plus.

As Sarven budget is below than that, we gave Nic a call to ask where he went to dye his hair. That time he was having his class and dearest Mr Ang Jian Wei was with him so Sarven kena a lil teeny weeny microbeeny sounding from him. Hahaha.. Nic say it was at USJ 14. Huh??? How the hell I know where is USJ 14 so JW gave us some directions so again...we bantai ronda ronda only. We passed USJ 8 (I think) shop lots there so we decide to park the car and walk around there la. We found 2 saloons and this time we muka tembok a bit so we enter one of the saloon to enquire the price. Suprisingly its quite cheap.. Only RM50 for the colouring and additional RM10 for hair cut. So we decide to dye his hair there la.

There's were the problem arise. Sarven's white hair!! Hahaha..Cos even if u dye it may not cover it all up ma and summore his white hair later will have different colour tone then the black hairs. But the dare devil Sarven say no problem so we go ahead la
Next..the colour choice. Both of us dont really understand what the man is talking and neither did he understand us as english is not his main language. So...yours truly become the translator la.

"Ta pu yau tai an te yen se ing wei kan pu tau ler. Ta yau hen liang liang te 'colour'." I start translating la for both of them in my rojak chinese plus english. MULTI-RACIAL!! Yeah!! Sarven wanted blonde but later he look like clown lah!! So we decide on a some brown-goldish-bronzish colour. Hahaha.. The whole time I kept saying.."pu yau tai an...pu yau tai an (dont wan too dark)" to the man cos Sarven is worried later the colour wont be so contrast from his skin tone.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

He looked damn funny man with his head wrap up!! Like aunty only!! Hahaha..
Later on the man ask whether Sarven is happy with the colour or not and Sarven ask the man to make it more erm...how do u say ar...striking la. Hahaha.. I pun support him!! Other hair dressers also came and see us and they kept asking us whether we are sure or not. Of course la we are sure!! The purpose Sarven want for it to be more striking cos he gila one and I pula cos out of curiosity.
So here it is.... TADA!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I cant stop laughing man!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA.. The moment we step out from the saloon everybody stare at us!! So malu!! Hahaha.. To be honest, I sincerely like it ler. Seriously! In real life it looked...well...matured. Its nice la. Not that funny actually as seen in this pic. Only cos I not used to see him in other colour hair except black or white for the past 6 years lor.. But its nice la.

Its 2.20 and we dont feel like going home yet so we called up Da Wei as we were around the school area and at the same time get Sarven's SJ 10K cert. DW was at KL central at that time and he said he's on the way home so I n Sarven went to Tanjung 4 a while la. We sat there for around half and hour but then decideto go some where else as tooooo malu adi cos everybody's staring at us. Hahahaha.. Stop by at 7-11 to get his fav 'slurrr-pee' and off we go to the padang in the middle of the hot blazing sun.

After a while we received a message from DW saying that he is still stuck at Carrefour and cannot get a bus so we decide to go pick him up.....with ME DIRECTING SARVEN THE WAY!!! Hahaha.. A joke man. DW called us up and was kinda worried we'll get lost so he gave us the directions and all. Stopped by USJ 4 petrol station to fill in the tank and accidentaly bump into PN.YONG!! Hahahahahahahaha.. No comment.

So with my "brilliant" road orientation I guide the skeptical Sarven the way...passed the tunnel which I insisted to Sarven did exist and all!! I was so so so soooooo freaking happy man when we saw the Parkson!! YAY!!! MUM I KNOW THE WAY TO SUBANG PARADE!!! PA I KNOW THE WAY TO SUBANG PARADE!!! NGAI WEI LING I KNOW THE WAY TO SUBANG PARADE!!SARVEN SHAN I KNOW THE WAY TO SUBANG PARADE!! HAHAHAHAHA... siau ca bo.

Saw DW waiting so I start bragging again about how smart I am. +_+ Bear with me lah people!! Big achievement you know?!? Hehehehehe.. Sent DW home. Sarven sent me home. And here I am typing this post.

Wow...so freaking long ar. Ish, malunya... As I had said in previous post before, must read my post ar people!! If not wasted only my energy. Hehehe.. Tata..

My road orientation is so so so HORRIBLE!! (Irna)

Oh...my driving skills is not that good either. Only a couple of minor accidents but I 'P' driver ma so cannot blame me. And I think that is something my parents should worry about not me. Haha..

I've been living in M'sia for roughly around 9-10 years and have been living in USJ for the same amount of time. The thing is that till this very day, I dont even know how to go to Giant! In fact, I only learned the way to school last year!!

My road orientation is only limited from my house to the Caltex at USJ 17 and to WL's house (just memorised a few months ago).
Anything over 200m away from my house is like a total different planet for me. My family kept training me over and over again however nothing could seem to stay permanent in my brain.

But to be downright honest, I really really really do not see this as a major problem or what lor as I absolutely never in a million years intended to drive anywhere far alone.
When I am not alone = someone beside me.
Someone beside me = someone to navigate the way.

But everybody see this as a stupid reason la cos why in the world I went and sit for driving licence for. Well...I dont know.. I assume everybody need to learn to drive so I go lah. As easy as that.

My family thinks that there is something wrong with my brain as there is absolutely no reason in why my road orientation is even worse that my std 1 neighbour. Aiya...the truth is, I am not blessed with that particular talent in all these road orientation thing so there is nothing I can do lor. Correct right?

But again, I kena shoot down for giving stupid excuses. Its not that I dun wanna learn ma!! I memang I dont know so what can I do?! I am just not blessed with that particular talent so...what to do?

But I still good girl one la. Wont let my parents worry. Ehem ehem. So my solutions are..

  1. IF....IF...I was driving alone and I lost my way...easy only!! Get out from my car. Flag down a taxi. Ask the taxi to go to my destination and I follow from behind!! Tada!! But the taxi fare my parents pay la...I am the victim kay? Kesian tau I sesat?? My family thinks this is a stupid idea la but not bad what right hor??
  2. This is my most useful plan one and I fully utilise it to the MAX man!! NGAI WEI LING!! Hahaha.. She is my talking road map. Thats why lah I was forced to learn the way to her house. I only need to learn the way to her house then the rest she direct. "After the junction you turn left...u have to keep to your right cos later havr to u-turn...after traffic light turn left." Hehehehe... Thats how la I manage to survive everytime I went out without my family. Even to the kedai mamak also she have to direct. Thx ya WL!!

But I guess cannot rely on ppl forever la.. Eh no la, actually can what!! Only everybody say no. Ceh.. So from tommorow onwards my mum will train me lor on all these...these...direction. And of course la, not forgotten my sucky driving skills.

Amazing Race Asia (Wei Ling)

The 1st Season of Amazing Race Asia has just end. And the winners are Tee Joe Jer and Zabrina Fernandez from Malaysia. This show is just as good at the rest of the Amazing Race shows and this time both Joe Jer and Zabrina has made Malaysia proud by winning the very 1st Amazing Race Asia. USD 100,000... Wow, RM 365, 000... That's a lot you know... Besides that, they are the 1st female team to win the race in the Amazing Race history. I wonder will Irna be interested to join this race with me... Herm... :p
The winners, Zabrina and Joe Jer... (Malaysia Boleh!)

Something new to me... (Wei Ling)

Okay, I've been taking public transport since i started university. Its a new experience for me as I've never taken any public transport in KL before. Plus, UTAR is quite a distance away from Subang Jaya and i can't ask my parents to fetch me to and back from school everyday. Therefore I'm taking the bus (only Rapid Kl because the ticket is valid for the whole day)... Taking the bus is quite nice as i get to see a lot of people and new things. There was once when i witness a couple fighting in the bus... Besides that, i get to meet Esther Ho once in a while too... Haha... Esther's studying in PJCAD and i met her at the bus stop twice last month. But she's very lucky that her school is SO NEAR to the bus stop, unlike me who has to take another bus from my campus before i reach the Asia Jaya stop. However, if you miss the bus during the peak hour (6pm++), you have to wait for quite some time before the next bus comes. The other day, i waited at Asia Jaya (PJ Hilton there...) from 6.45pm till 8pm for the bus to go back to Subang. By the time, i reach home, it was nearly 9pm. Talking about bus, i really have to thanked Irna for accompanying me to take the bus few weeks ago. Both of us took a bus from Taipan to USJ 8 and than from USJ 8 to Asia Jaya. From Asia Jaya LRT Station, we took another bus to my campus and than back to Asia Jaya again to check the area. Since the ticket last one whole day, we went to Pyramid, Summit and than Subang Parade on the day itself. We had lunch in Sushi King, Pyramid and had Kok Kuan served both of us... However, no discounts were given to both of us... haiz... Haha... Though tiring, but it was an enjoyable and interesting trip... OK, that's all for today... Will post some pictures of my campus and university friends and lecturers soon... Till than, have a nice weekend to all...

5 Days 4 Night Taiping-Ipoh Trip 06' [Part 2] - (Irna)

Yay!! At last I know how to use the photobucket!!
After hours and hours of pressing this and that only I know that all I have to do is to copy and paste the html tag. Ceh..
Why so leceh one ar? Even for all the colours setting for this blog also need some stupid confusing code and digits. Everything need the what what HTML thingy. I see so many funny funny letters and numbers till my brain nearly exploded!!

My knowledge in all this computer thingy is even worse than WL's std 6 sister so its a very very very big achievement for me you know?!? Haha..
But aiya, I still find all these very mafan one la. So I no longer have anymore interest or patience to learn all these.

Eh...I babble so much pula. Kay la, here are some of the pics as stated above.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
At the Shah Alam bus station. Supposed to leave at 9.30 am for Kamunting
however the bus only showed up at 9.50 am. Took us 5 hours to reach
Kamunting man and so boring lah so sleep only lor..

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
"Omnibus". Took it from Kamunting bus station to go to the Taiping Town.
Only 85 cent per person! It was such an old old bus and we board
it with our big bags and all like some jakun fellas but I can
say that the half and hour journey was kinda fun.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Walked from Taiping Town to the Taiping Lake Garden. Spent few hours wandering aimlessly there till my legs almost fall off. WL pula semangat walking. But its nice la...the scenery I mean. Not the walking.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Taiping Lake Garden.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Woke up at 6 am. Reached Bt.Larut around 7 but the jeep to go up the hill
is not available at the time we want. Since there is no way WL could force me
to walk up there, we abandon our Bt.Larut plan and head off to the ZOO
which is situated some 3 km away. So we walk lah ditemani by wild monkeys
all around us and reached there before the zoo open. +_+
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The entrance of the zoo. We were the first and only one there. Haha..

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Actually we wanted to sit for this erm...this boat pedalling stuff but were too
lazy and tired so we spent the whole day sleeping! Before we know it,
its the day for us to go home so didnt have the chance lor
to make a fool of ourselves. Sayang la..

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Waiting at the Kamunting bus station on the last day..
Luckily we bought the ticket the night before as it was sold out today.
Cannot go back ar later...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Do you believe in coincidence? Oh my goodness.. 5 days ago when we came to
Kamunting, we used bus no plate ADS 5114 as shown above and seat 14 & 15.
5 days later, we went backboarding the EXACT same bus and
the EXACT same bus seat!! Nice!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is the bus that we took..
